Registration for the course is available to all members eligible to sit the exam on 16 November 2021 up until the day before the assessment.
The online programme includes timed mock exams, revision questions and case studies. There is also a discussion forum where members can share their thoughts and concerns. A live workshop on ‘Getting Mentally Prepared’ is also included in the course which provides members with practical tips on how to cope with exam-related stress.
The PDA has been running revision programmes to support all members taking the assessment this year. The revision programme was successfully run to support those taking the March and July assessments, with November being the final date for 2021.
The revision programme is a useful tool that has already helped many members to pass the assessment. Members that have taken part in the revision programme already this year have given some very positive feedback, some of which can be found below.
Samuel Opoku, Community Pharmacist at Day Lewis Pharmacy said:
“The launching of the PDA Education revision programme on the hub was of great benefit to me as a PDA Pre-reg member. The pandemic added to the pressure of working and studying and not knowing a fixed date and style of the exams was a big challenge. As a PDA member, the revision programme was FREE which was great. Having failed the assessment twice, I was under added pressure to pass as my third attempt was my last one.
“The PDA revision programme provided enough material to support me in my revision. I particularly liked the revision tips that were given by various professionals. The mock exam provided GPhC style questions which gave me the opportunity to practice online and under timed conditions. The feedback after the mock was invaluable. There was a lot of rational behind every feedback given.
“I would say I passed the assessment mostly because of the revision programme and the support I received from PDA staff. It’s FREE to members so why not take advantage of it?.”
Jasraj Singh Matharu, Pharmacist and PDA NEC member said:
“Preparation for any examination can be stressful, especially one which holds such importance as the GPhC registration assessment. Throughout my preparations I found the revision programme to be a great supplementary resource. Not only are there a range of case studies, clinical and calculation questions, but also guidance on different career pathways. The course contains a wealth of information and is a great resource to aid you in your preparation for the upcoming registration assessment.”
