Darren Ayres

My name is Darren and I have been qualified as a pharmacist since 1998. I have had numerous roles within the company over those 24 years. My current role is an anticoagulation pharmacist with some shifts as a relief pharmacist.
I wanted to become a PDA Union representative as it’s a role that interests me and I would like the opportunity to promote both the PDA Union to pharmacists and to represent them.
Gordon Finlayson
National Representative
I have worked at Boots for a total of 20 years, in which time I have seen many changes both within the company and the profession as a whole. I have been a regional committee member and trade union representative for the PDA Union for 3 years and seen firsthand the excellent work they do in representing the interests of individual pharmacists. With the experience I have gained I look forward to helping build a more positive, constructive relationship between Boots and its pharmacists. I am proud to be both a Regional and Divisional PDA Union representative at Boots.
Hala Jawad

I have had a very varied pharmacy career in non-traditional roles but have also worked in both primary care and community pharmacy. I have been a PDA Union member since graduation and although fairly new to Boots am confident I can use my wider experience to develop this new role. I am excited to use these experiences as a PDA Union Regional and Divisional representative to support and represent my pharmacist colleagues and help bring positive change.

Apart from some experience at the NPA, I’ve worked in community pharmacy for 13 years primarily with Boots. I understand the pressures faced by pharmacists in a busy corporate pharmacy on a daily basis. I am privileged to be able to use this platform as a PDA Union Regional representative to provide support to pharmacists and help improve working conditions.
Nav Bhogal
National Representative
I’ve been a Boots pharmacist for 20 years and undertaken a variety of roles within the company in that time. I look forward to using that experience in my role of PDA Union representative in both providing support and representing the views of pharmacists within my region.
Nicola Rees
National Representative
I have been a community pharmacist for over 20 years and a member of the PDA Union since 2012. With the signing of the recognition agreement between the PDA Union and Boots I see a great opportunity to improve our working environment and achieve a better future for the profession. As a PDA Union Regional and Divisional representative I look forward to supporting and representing the views and concerns of Boots pharmacists going forward.
Richard Evans
Regional Representative , Northern Ireland
I have been a pharmacist for 30 years, working in various small and large companies, primacy care and training so have a broad spectrum of professional experience. I see newly qualified pharmacists become disillusioned with the profession very early in their careers which makes me want to help reboot morale and the confidence of my colleagues. The PDA Union looks after the interests of individual pharmacists and I am privileged to support that in this new Regional representative role.

I have worked as a pharmacist for Boots for 13 years and held a variety of roles and experienced an ever-changing company and profession in that time. I currently work as a relief pharmacist in the North East of England and particularly enjoy the variety of the people this enables me to meet. I am a firm believer that in exchange for their hard work and vast expertise, pharmacists deserve to be treated with fairness and respect and be properly rewarded. I am honoured to be given the opportunity by the PDA Union to represent my pharmacist colleagues and to help in any way I’m able.
Tom Graves
