The ACTNow campaign
The goal of the ACTNow campaign is to raise awareness of the wellbeing challenges that pharmacy students may face. Pharmacist Support provide practical support for managing these issues, that pharmacy students can take advantage of and benefit from.
The PDA encourages pharmacy students to sign up to the campaign and by doing so, students will gain access to free valuable resources to help them to:
- Mentally prepare for their exams.
- Get ready for life as a trainee pharmacist.
- Stay on top of their mental health and wellbeing.
About Pharmacist Support
Pharmacist Support are an independent charity dedicated to helping to support those that study and work in pharmacy. They are proud to be able to support people from such a caring profession and each year provide thousands of acts of support.
Pharmacist Support are encouraging all pharmacy students to sign up to their charity newsletter to get FREE mental health and wellbeing support.
This includes:
- Exam stress-relief tips
- Inspirational stories from fellow pharmacy students
- Support with independent prescribing
- Mental health workshops
Each year the PDA donates £1 per member to the charity and enables pharmacists to also donate as part of their joining or renewal of PDA membership. This has provided more than £300,000 to the charity since the arrangement began in 2017.
What is wellbeing?
Wellbeing can be defined as the state of being comfortable, healthy, feeling good and functioning well. It’s important to realise that wellbeing is a much deeper concept than moment-to-moment happiness, and everyone must invest in it in order to have sustained happiness, control of emotions, higher productivity, and good physical health.
