PDA trainee pharmacist members attend the STUC Youth Conference 2023

On 1 and 2 July 2023 two Scotland based PDA trainee pharmacist members represented the PDA at the 83rd STUC Youth conference. One member spoke at the conference on fighting fascism in Scotland and the work they did while holding the role of Honorary Secretary of the PDA LGBT+ Network.

The PDA’s delegates joined with other young workers and trade union members from across all sectors of employment in Scotland to discuss issues that are of particular importance to young workers.

The STUC calendar features numerous conferences, for women workers, black workers, disabled workers, and LGBT+ workers and the PDA sends delegations of members to each of them. Those who have a desire to be involved with any of these conferences in the future or would like more information on them or the wider work of the STUC please contact Paul Flynn, PDA National Officer for Scotland by emailing Paul.flynn@pda-union.org.

Those who are currently MPharm students or trainee pharmacists and interested in getting involved with the PDA, there is the opportunity to become a PDA Student Rep or a PDA Trainee Rep. The role involves sharing information and feeding back on student/trainee issues and concerns so that the PDA can lobby on members behalf, communicate, issue relevant guidance and support, and where appropriate, campaign for and with members.
