Anger and disappointment as government suggest it may be 1% pay rise for NHS employees

PDA Union has today reacted to press reports that the 2021 NHS Pay increase is to be limited to 1% and calls on the Independent Pay Review Body (IPRB) that advises Government on NHS Pay to show its independence and reflect the need to ensure NHS workers are treated with the same dignity and respect on pay that they have shown to their patients throughout the pandemic.

PDA reiterate call for everyone who works in pharmacy to be in a trade union

NAWP calls on employers to publish gender pay gap reports

The National Association of Women Pharmacists (NAWP) says gender equality should continue to be treated as important and that there is no need for good employers to delay publishing their 2019/20 gender pay gap report until the new October enforcement deadline.

PDA Covid-19 vaccination portal helped over 1100 locum pharmacists

The PDA were concerned that some locum pharmacists could have been missed from the population of frontline health professionals to be allocated a Covid-19 vaccination, and therefore agreed with NHS England that we would develop a web portal to capture the details of locums that needed vaccinations.

Locum and employed pharmacists should check arrangements for them to receive up to £500 government payment in Scotland and Northern Ireland

Employers, in Northern Ireland and in Scotland, have been asked by their respective governments to provide information about how many eligible pharmacists, including locums, will receive up to £500 as a payment from government for their contribution in 2020 towards tackling the Covid pandemic.
